Amazing Grace
I went for my lasik assessment this afternoon...While spending so much time waiting to take various tests, I watched the HBO channel. The show was about a dying mother trying to look for the father of her son before she dies. They managed to find the father and his extended family who loved and took him in gladly... The movie ended with the whole church attending her funeral and singing Amazing Grace - and me, with bleary eyes from all the dilating eye drops, bursting into tears...
So here it is... I want to post this song also because my prayer was just answered. God is good!
"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.
T'was Grace that taught... my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear...
the hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares...
we have already come.
T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far...
and Grace will lead us home.
The Lord has promised good to me...
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be...
as long as life endures.
When we've been here ten thousand years...
bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise...
then when we've first begun.
"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see."
Anyway, this movie wasn't the only one I watched at the clinic (showed how long I waited there). The next movie was "Harry Potter 4" - which was so dissappointing, the way they portraited the characters (especially Dumbledore!!! ) I hated the guy who acted as Dumbledore - so crude, and loud, and shabby... everything is so un-Dumbledore!!!! grrr... ok, I shall not continue blasting the movie anymore - I have said enough.
Have a good weekend, everyone!
